Setting Up E-mail Rules and Backing Up E-mails

We will go into more detail and explain a few terms like “setting up email rules” and “backing up important emails”. That way you have an easier way to understand the checklist and get your inbox ready to go for the new season. Follow the explanation in the order of the checklist:

  • Unsubscribe from unnecessary emails: Go through your inbox and identify any emails that you don’t need to receive anymore. Unsubscribe from these lists to reduce clutter in your inbox.
  • Delete old and irrelevant emails: Scan through your inbox and delete any email you do not need.  That discount code from last year is no longer valid, it’s time to delete it.
  • Organize your inbox:  Create folders and labels to organize your emails. This will make it easier to find important messages later on.
  • Respond to important emails: Take some time to respond to any important emails that you may have missed. This will help you stay on top of your inbox and prevent important messages from getting lost.
  • Archive important messages: If you have important emails that you want to keep for reference later on, archive them. This will help keep your inbox clutter-free.
  • Use filters to sort your email lists: Set up filters to automatically sort your emails into specific folders or labels.  This can save you time and make it easier to manage your inbox
  • Check your spam folder: Check your spam folder regularly to make sure that important emails aren’t getting caught there.
  • Review your contact list: Take some time to review your contact list and remove any outdated or old contacts. This will make it easier to find the people you need to contact later on.
  • Back up important emails: If you have important emails that you want to keep for a long time, back them up to a separate hard drive or cloud storage. (See HERE for how to perform this task).
  • Set up email rules: (Blog post link HERE) Set up rules to automatically move certain types of email to specific folders or labels. This can save you time and help you stay organized.
