Based in Lisbon, Portugal, this multilingual singer will have you swaying your hips and falling in love with her melodic voice in any language she so chooses to sing in. Singing most of her lyrics in her native, Cape Verdean, Crioulo language. She will transport you with her extensive discography starting from 2006, and I assure you each album will be a different experience.

My Faves of Mayra Andrade
My first time listening to Mayra Andrade was her singing “Tan Kalakatan” from her 2019 album “Manga“. Then I continued being moved by her lyrics in “Afeto“. And I had to follow Mayra on her Instagram (@mayraandradeofficial) and Spotify soon after that.
What I love about the artist Mayra Andrade, is that not only is she a songwriter and a talented singer. She uses her platforms to speak out against injustices, which is always commendable. She has also served as a celebrity ambassador for the United Nations campaign, “Free and Equal“. Which promotes the human rights of the LGBT community in Cape Verde. Mayra also collaborated on the song, “Amor Cuidado” for AIDS prevention in 2003.
