Luther: The Fallen Sun on Netflix
If you haven’t heard, Netflix has Idris Elba as John Luther in Luther: The Fallen Sun. A thriller that will have you hooked from the first moment, even if you are unfamiliar with the previous show by the same name.
Luther: The Fallen Sun is a whole movie. A new serial killer played by Andy Serkis is tormenting the vulnerable people of London. To continue carrying out these atrocities, serial killer David Robey needs Luther out of the picture. So we see our complicated hero arrested and locked up. With a new team, DSU Odette Raine tries to take the reins and find the killer.
While in prison, the serial killer taunts Luther. Still quick as ever, Luther stays thinking and finding ways to flush out and find this killer before more deaths occur. Leading Luther to try and reach out to DSU Raine. When Raine passes on his help, Luther plans his escape from prison. Upon the breakout, the show’s old friend retired DSU Martin Schenk gets brought in to help bring Luther in and in the process allow Luther to find the serial killer. Schenk and Luther’s relationship is closer than ever with the respect and connection that flows so well. Martin Schenk lets Luther do his thing while still appeasing Raine.
Entertaining Thriller
Luther: The Fallen Sun is entertaining as it is a thriller. I did feel like I could watch more of this, and I hope that Netflix will consider making more Luther movies. Of course, if the cast is on board because it is a well-written show and it has its following.
I will not give any spoilers or write more about how great this movie was. You need to watch it on Netflix, today or this weekend. It will not disappoint if you are a Luther fan. And if you’re new to Luther, this is a great one-movie introduction to how loved this show is. For more Entertainment recommendations check out our Currently Watching blog post here.
