Are you looking for a book to introduce to your young children that will give them the confidence to play piano? I’ve found it for you.

Let me tell you about “My First Piano Sheet Music” by Emily Norris. This book is a perfect introduction for young children interested in music, singing, or specifically the piano. With 40 popular songs like “Happy Birthday”, “Jingle Bells”, and more.

My First Piano Sheet Music

My First Piano Sheet Music is an easy-to-follow music book. With fun songs to sing and play, that are popular with your children. Emily Norris has done a wonderful job in creating a book that will boost the confidence of your young piano player without coming across as a task.

How Will This Help My Child?

Emily Norris has compiled 40 beginner-friendly songs with clear music notation and helpful hand positions. Some songs have been adapted to help the child continue a steady flow of ease when playing, these are annotated by the author so you are aware of the gradual changes even if you don’t play piano yourself.

How do these adaptations help your child while playing piano? What makes it beginner-friendly? Glad you asked.

The hand positions will help your child identify what hand positions are needed and which notes will be played in each song. The music notation includes letters for each note, in addition to some finger numbers, which will build your child’s music-reading skills.

And Afterwards?

Once your child has enjoyed playing these tunes and falling in love with the piano. You can continue to elaborate on their interests by getting the companion to My First Piano Sheet Music by the same author, Emily Norris. The companion book is titled, “My First Piano Lessons”, which I will link down below. In the companion book, you can find 10 popular songs like, “Pop Goes The Weasel”, “The Wheels On The Bus”, and more. This way they are still learning based on the same style and theory initially introduced to them by Emily Norris’s “My First Piano Sheet Music”.

Even For Adults…

In the household, we love the piano. Personally, never played and do not know how to read music at all. I can say without a doubt this was not a frustrating endeavor, it was fun to play alongside them. It also is a great way to have children see how as a grown-up, you do things they know you don’t normally do. Showing them that with dedication and with the right style of learning they too can play an instrument or learn anything.

With My First Piano Sheet Music both children and adults can easily play the piano without any of the frustrations that ensue especially in other piano music books I have come across in the past.
