Music is History Audiobook Review.

Questlove, whom is synonymous with Music, examines the past 50 years of American history (starting in 1971). Picking and diving into an essential track for each year forward. He not only curated a playlist that will expose you to music from the past. You will see and hear what it meant to hear each song in the year of its release. Questlove, you could say, made a baby book for America. Filled with memories of what was taking place, historically.   And what it sounded like in case you had forgotten what the song was.

A Beautiful Musical Journey

Music Is History took me on a beautiful ride. Questlove is a phenomenal storyteller and teacher. You will end up going back and listening to the audio of this book multiple times.   You can’t just get everything in one sitting. I did not know a lot of the backstories (thank goodness for Questlove and all of his knowledge). Questlove did an amazing job of taking us from the present to the past and toward the future.

Do you enjoy music?

If you enjoy music, if you work in the music industry in any capacity, Music Is History is the go-to book I will recommend for you. It is a truly enjoyable book.  A teachable book.  It will serve you well as a reference book. It will make you cry, laugh, and do a whole lot of thinking.

Music Is History and Questlove is the gift that keeps on giving.
