In Timothy Knapman’s book, we meet the time travelers: Jake, Lula, and Clawdia (the cat). The Time Travel Sleepover starts with a shimmy and they are welcomed to Ancient Egypt. Upon arriving they meet Tuya and Senbi.

While they’re visiting Ancient Egypt they experience and learn all about how people lived during that time. Your children will learn about the ins and outs of an Egyptian house. The games the children played, what they wore, what the adults wore, and the jewelry’s meanings. You explore alongside Jake, Lula, and Clawdia all about the Nile River, and what they would eat.

Interested in what they would do in school in Ancient Egypt? You get to learn about that too. From jobs to visiting the doctor, and learning about the Gods they worshipped during those times. Time Travel Sleepover: Ancient Egypt is full of interesting facts that will inspire your child to learn more about Ancient Egypt and join the time travelers on their next adventure.

Book Review

Your child will love this book! I think this sort of storytelling is the best way for young children to learn history. It’s immersive, funny, and educational. The story is fun and engaging. And the illustrations are fantastic, there is so much to see on each page. This children’s book can be a gateway to other educational activities. Take the section on the Gods and make a short study on their favorites. Or find some white bedsheets and create their own Egyptian attire. The experiences to have are endless.
