Hey there! So, picture this – the hilarious Katherine Ryan spills the beans on a short, funny, and unpredictable true story. It’s all about love, sticking it out, and that one guy she was convinced she’d left in the dust.
Back in high school, Katherine had this on-again, off-again thing with a seriously decent dude named Bobby. The whole saga was filled with teenage drama and moody moments fueled by Cool Ranch Doritos. Fast forward many years, and Katherine’s rocking the comedy scene in the UK, proudly navigating single parenthood with her super-smart daughter, Violet. She’s all about embracing the solo life and waving goodbye to romance – at least, she tells her audience.
But hold up, work decides to send Katherine on a quick trip back to her Canadian hometown. And guess who she bumps into? Yep, it’s Bobby. Suddenly, Katherine realized that maybe everything she thought she’d moved past wasn’t as far in the rearview mirror as she figured. Life’s full of surprises, huh?
Book Review
This is a short story by Katherine Ryan. It is funny and charming, but you also see the comic be vulnerable. If you follow her on social media, you kind of know the story, but “How to Accidentally Settle Down” is a love letter to Bobby, in a way you’d expect her to make it.
